Art that Breathes: The Healing Nature of Botanical Art

Tony(a) will share her journey as a community herbalist /educator over the past 25 years and how her relationship as an earth stewart and the plants has led to this new chapter of her work "Art That Breathes".

We will explore how partnering with plants to make art is a healing practice which deepens our healing practices and our relationship with plants. We will explore how to integrate ethical harvesting and tenants of ecological herbalism into our practice.

We will survey several ways in which plants are used in the visual arts as inspiration and as material. Making art in collaboration with plants offers healing ranging from the many benefits of creativity and deepening one's relationship with plants and strengthening one's relationship with place.

We don't need to take plants orally to experience the medicine.
