What Fungi Have to Offer for People and the Planet: John Michelotti

  • March 30, 2023 @ 9:00PM EASTERN

Fungi are their own Kingdom/Queendom/Kindom of life. Different from plants but interconnected with them symbiotically under our feet, we can learn about the ways they grow and thrive as they connect our forests, heal our planet, and grow medicinal compounds.

Fungi have many different benefits to offer for the planet and for people. As we learn about the gifts they have to offer, we find ways we can pair with them to heal our bodies, minds, and the planet. Join Susun Weed and John Michelotti of Catskill Fungi for this discussion.

John Michelotti is the founder of Catskill Fungi which empowers people with fungi through outdoor educational classes, cultivation courses, mushroom art, and mushroom health extracts.  John is a former President of the Mid-Hudson Mycological Association (MHMA). He serves as Medicinal Mushroom Committee Chair and is a Poison Control Consultant for the North American Mycological Association.

He was chosen by the Catskill Center as a "Steward of the Catskills" for his contribution to the environment. His goal is to educate and inspire people to pair with fungi to improve the environment, their health, and communities.
